Orange County Fire & EMSLibraries

The three public libraries are located in the Town of Orange, the Town of Gordonsville and Locust Grove. They offer a vast collection of books, large print books, videos, magazines, DVDs, CDs, books-on-tape, books-on-CD, and CD-ROM software for free checkout to the public. Computers and wireless internet are also available to patrons.

Public Safety

Orange County is the first county in the state to install and operate a totally integrated, enhanced 911 system. Also in place is RAVEAlert and Emergency Medical Dispatch.

Police

The area is served by the county sheriff’s department and police in both the Towns of Orange and Gordonsville.

Fire & Rescue

Volunteer fire fighters from five fire stations provide fire protection in the county and in the Towns of Orange and Gordonsville.

EMS

Emergency service is provided by two volunteer rescue squads and a paid county staff operating from four locations.
